Cosmic Bloom search for damn fine coffee.

Howdy Space Cadets,

As we continue our search through the cosmos for damn fine coffee we would like to take a moment to share our goal in this mission. Cosmic Bloom stands for a voyage that our team took. The search for experimental, innovative, and highly exceptional coffees. In that search our goal is to share those experiences with our coffee community. We want to see our customers light up when, just as we do, when we come across mind blowing coffee. These experiences are out of this world and that is why the search for these amazing coffees is so important to us! Here is some of the different categories that we separate our experiences with.

Daily Driver coffees

This I would categorize our Chiapas Single Origin most developed roast or our Espresso Roast which is a delicious blend that produces a modern style specialty espresso shot. These coffees tend to have more traditional profiles and offer a consistent experience that is perfect for on the go. They both are very easy to brew and very approachable coffees. Meaning that both begin with a sweet and chocolaty body and have a nice caramel like sweet finish. They are easy to drink and provide the perfect brew to prepare yourself for a busy day. They are also approachable in a sense to where you can share them with someone not familiar with specialty coffee, someone well experienced, and maybe even someone who doesn’t drink coffee but is curious. As we call it a good daily driver to get you from point a to point b without compromising the specialty coffee experience.

Special Occasion Coffees

These coffees are selected to provide an elevated coffee experience. When we hosted our dear friend Felipe of Ventola Coffee he helped us understand the reasoning behind these higher end lots. Felipe runs his own farm along with an coffee sourcing company out of Colombia where he helps us find some of the best coffees that we have ever had. He is constantly on the go and explained to us that when he is working he likes to enjoy a more daily driver coffee. Something you could throw a lid on and sip on in the car. A coffee that requires very little effort. But when Felipe wants to spend time on his farm, walk through the coffee plants, listen to the sounds of the farm, he enjoys one of these Special Occasion Coffees. These coffees offer a little bit more memorable experience. Our Colombia Giesha for example has a nice tea-like body. This coffee is very elegant tasting with notes of rose, passion fruit and honey. A coffee that requires a more precise, ritualistic way of brewing that connects you deeper to the coffee. Once Felipe broke it down to us this way, it helped us understand that when the thought and effort is put into producing these coffees, this is the type of experience that the coffee producers have in mind.

Drink What You Like!

When it comes down to choosing a coffee there is no right or wrong answer for a specific coffee. You can use any coffee for any type of brewing application. You are also free to experiment with different methods, recipes etc. We highly encourage our customers to experiment, because it guides you deeper into the search for damn fine coffee. If it weren’t for all producers in the industry that are experimenting, and producing coffees that they love then we wouldn’t have all of these incredible coffees. Everyone has different preferences and is entitled to drink the coffees that they love however they enjoy them.

Cheers,

See you space cowboy…
